Description

Nature of Work:
We are seeking an efficient, safety-minded Telecommunications Crew Leader to join our team.  This field position is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the performance of day to day telecommunications operations in a specific area.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties listed below may vary in terms of importance and other duties may be added or eliminated as this position develops.

 

  • Lead and direct field crew to safely execute job responsibilities.
  • Train new field employees on pipe placement, fiber pulling, safety, how to operate equipment, and how to use tools.
  • Plan out the job one or two days in advance, and how it will be performed.
  • Maintain open communication with area manager.
  • Responsible for obtaining materials.
  • In an emergency, secure the scene, and notify utility, police, fire department and area manager.
  • Responsible for communicating with inspectors, homeowners, and crews in a positive and effective way.
  • Complete proper documentation regarding all at fault and non-at-fault dig in damages, employee injuries, vehicle accidents and property damages.
  • Be familiar with telecommunication practices and procedures. Know where to access detailed information.
  • Complete safety paperwork daily and hand in weekly.
  • Ensure employees have current operator qualifications.

Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Minimum of 2 years telecommunication field experience, working with fiber, copper cable and placing pipe.
  2. A keen attention to detail, and the ability to adjust to dynamic conditions.
  3. Exceptional communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated leadership capability.
  5. Completion of OSHA 10 Hour Training within past two years.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

  1. Familiar with OSHA (State & Federal) rules and regulations.
  2. Experience in a leadership role.
  3. Valid Class A CDL.
  4. Experience using Microsoft Outlook to check e-mails throughout the week.
