Nature of Work:

The Regional Finance Leader is responsible for providing P&L and overall financial management for the Ohio region within KS Energy Services. This includes management and oversight of the full P&L from orders & sales down to operating margin. In this role, the Finance Leader will partner with the local operating teams to drive business initiatives, growth, business strategy, and profitability. This position will report to the VP Finance / CFO of KS Energy Services with a strong dotted line to the Regional/Area Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties listed below may vary in terms of importance and other duties may be added or eliminated as this position develops.

  • Act as champion for enhanced financial visibility, simplification and productivity and complete various financial analyses and reporting to support specific initiatives or projects.
  • Support monthly and quarterly closing processes.
  • Play a key role in quarterly estimates, annual operating plans/forecasts/reviews.
  • Prepare management monthly/quarterly reporting packages (regional and segment P&L’s) and communicate results to key stakeholders.
  • Drive profitable growth in the region by providing analysis of results and identifying & tracking key metrics while advising the business partners on risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions.
  • Drive simplification throughout the organization and to improve rigor in key Finance processes, reducing costs & improving profitability.
  • Work with controllership and legal teams to drive financial and process compliance.
  • Ensure revenue and cost recognition accuracy, reconciliations.
  • Own/support cash flow for the region including billing and collections.
  • Develop processes, tools, and documentation for efficient and customer-centric office operations. Identify and recommend quality standards, optimal workflow, and resources for office personnel to complete the region’s billing, accounts payable, payroll, and project tracking
  • Lead the regional office team including billing, project support roles, assistant project managers, and all other office-based staff. Manage schedules and work assignments and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Monitor and evaluate team members’ work including quality and adherence to established processes.

Required Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with professional work experience including developing forecasts & operating plans and leading business/finance reviews.
  • Services and/or utility and contracting finance experience.

Desired Characteristics:

  • 5-7 years of financial work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent analytical ability: Analytical skill set combined with strong communications skills to articulate operational drivers and their implications, results and actions to various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to work with minimum supervision and drive financial outcomes.
  • Solid PC skills: Very strong Excel capabilities and experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: MS Dynamics, MS Office, Microsoft BI).
  • Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions.
  • Experience working in matrix business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows.
  • Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others.
  • Good understanding of financial compliance: SOX, GAAP.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and champion change management initiatives.
