KS Energy Services is a growing construction company that installs underground pipes and cables that power our lives—from lighting offices to heating homes. As the company continues to grow we are looking for an IT Intern to help make sure the company stays on track to reach our digital transformation goals.
Nature of Work:

This part-time student intern position will start working in the summer of 2021, with potential to continue work through the fall semester. Assisting in the IT department, tasks primarily include supporting application deployments; providing hands-on IT assistance to co-workers; creating new and modifying existing data extracts and reports; and configuring applications based on internal customer requirements.  There is also potential to assist in other IT activities including: process mapping, system requirements elicitation, software coding and testing. This position reports to the IT Business Partner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical assistance, answer questions, and address system and user issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Install and configure software, load data, maintain/configure application settings, accommodate client-initiated changes, and proactively minimize application downtime.
• Monitor and verify application interface processing, making sure source and target systems are synced.
• Assist business unit representatives (finance, operations, fleet, HR, payroll, etc.) by writing customized reports and data extracts that meet their data/process needs.
• Code/test/document/execute data audit/validation routines to help identify data integrity issues.
• Special projects as assigned.

1. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, computer science, or related field.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
3. Ability to maintain professionalism and provide high customer service.
4. Solid educational base in computer programming languages such as VBA, JAVA, or SQL
5. Ability to work independently.
6. Minimum of sophomore standing with GPA 3.0 or higher within major.

Desirable Qualifications:

Previous experience with Excel, VBA, SQL, and Microsoft Azure preferred.
