Description

We are seeking a Payroll Intern to perform various tasks and support our Payroll departments daily activities.  This intern will work full-time in the Summer of 2021. As a Payroll Intern at KS Energy Services, you will have the opportunity to work in a high energy, fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering employee’s time.
  • Work with management team to ensure hours are coded and paid correctly.
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, deductions, etc.
  • Serve as part of a team to process weekly payroll, calculate live checks, create and run reports, and verify and update system coding to post to appropriate accounts.
  • Analyze hours and dollars paid in partnership with management team. May include creating and running ad-hoc reports, verifying current data, and manipulating data in Excel.
  • Serve as a first point of contact to employees and managers with questions regarding payroll.
  • Assist in compiling monthly union reports and calculating payments. Verify all information is correct and submit detail to union funds.
  • Respond to unemployment agencies, banks, and other 3rd party requests to verify employee information in a timely and professional manner.
  • Other Payroll and/or HR duties and projects as assigned.

  1. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field.
  2. Minimum of sophomore standing.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  5. Ability to prioritize and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Ability to provide high customer service and maintain professionalism.
  7. Previous experience with Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred.
