KS Energy Services is a leading provider of underground construction and maintenance services to the natural gas and electric utility industry and natural gas pipeline industry. We install the pipes and cables that power our lives. We have over 1200 teammates with offices in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison, Appleton, Chicago, Dubuque and Cincinnati. We are looking to fill this position in our Milwaukee, Chicago and Cincinnati offices.

 

We and our clients expect and demand attention to safety, efficiency, and precision. We are looking for Construction Management Co-ops who have similar values and beliefs and can translate their expertise and skills to our team. 

Responsibilities

  • Learn industry safety standards and ensure safety guidelines are followed on job sites.
  • Visit work sites, interact with craft team members and address challenges that arise.
  • Figure time, material, & labor requirements necessary to complete projects.
  • Prepare and manage work schedules for company crews as well as subcontractors.
  • Review expenses and ensure spending is approved and within budget.
  • Assist in completing production reports and project tracking sheets. Look for patterns and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Help communicate project performance to executive management team.
  • Attend customer meetings.

 

Development Opportunities

During the course of work experience, you will learn from successful managers, be exposed to all facets of the business, and build skills in the following areas:

  • Project management including time management, budgeting, goal setting, & benchmarking.
  • Customer service and client management
  • An understanding of cost v. revenue and basic job accounting techniques
  • Problem solving
  • Safety – Students will receive OSHA 30-hr Certificate
  • Relationship building

 

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in Business or Engineering school with a 3.0 GPA in a four-year business or engineering degree program with a status of at least sophomore level and a strong desire to learn hands-on business management.
  • Excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to positively influence others and develop strong workplace relations.
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license.
