Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Human Resources/Communications Intern to join our growing team.
 

Nature of Work:

This student intern will work part-time hours during the 2021 Spring Semester, with potential to continue full-time in the Summer of 2021. This internship is responsible for support of the day-to-day human resources and communications functions. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and Diversity.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Assists in writing and editing internal and external communications.
  • Brainstorms, creates and organizes content for social media, company newsletter and website.
  • Partners with company leaders to collaborate on project updates, local happenings, customer compliments, and area initiatives.
  • Assists to revamp and relaunch employee recognition program.  Includes policy documentation, creation & execution of communication plan, and ongoing administration. 
  • Other HR and Communication duties and projects as assigned.

  1. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human Resources, or related field.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  4. Ability to maintain professionalism and provide high customer service.
  5. Ability to prioritize and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Ability to work independently.
  7. Minimum of sophomore standing.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook strongly preferred.
  • Superb writing and editing skills; graphic design and video experience is a plus.
  • High interpersonal communication skills with a willingness to learn about the organization and industry.
  • Experience and familiarity with various social media platforms in a professional context.
