Description

Nature of Work:

This position is responsible for operating a Hydro Vac Truck, using pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, precisely, and cleanly excavate around utilities, pipelines and numerous other applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties listed below may vary in terms of importance and other duties may be added or eliminated as this position develops.

  • Seventy percent (70%) or more of the job’s work time is spent operating the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck performing non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground piping and cables.
  • Other hydro vac work consists of tank entry, cleaning and vacuuming, etc.
  • Ensures hydro vac is operated & transported in a safe & secure way.
  • Performs routine inspection & preventive maintenance on assigned equipment & refers defects or repairs to the supervisor.
  • Works in adherence to safe practices, procedures, and work site or traffic laws.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years’ Heavy Equipment Operation experience
  • CDL A required with Tanker endorsement
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
  • Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift, push, pull 60+ pounds and work heavy equipment
  • Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment
  • Must be comfortable navigating electronic and computer equipment
