We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Intern to join our growing team!

Nature of Work:

This student intern will work a minimum of 20 hours a week during the school year. Assisting in the accounting department; tasks primarily include processing, recording, verifying, paying, and filing vendor invoices. There is also potential to assist in other accounting activities including month-end closings, fixed asset tracking, audit and tax assistance, etc. This position reports to the Accounting Supervisor. Work will be performed in an office environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and scan invoices to managers for approval.
  • Accurately enter invoices into database.
  • Follow up on delayed invoice approvals.
  • Check invoice dates, vendors, and G&L codes before releasing and updating for payment looking for errors.
  • Run checks, match stubs with invoices for payment and file invoices.
  • Serves as receptionist to answer incoming calls and greet visitors.
  • Special projects as assigned.

  1. Pursuing a Bachelor degree in accounting.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  3. Ability to maintain professionalism and provide high customer service.
  4. Solid math and communication skills.
  5. Ability to work independently.
  6. Minimum of sophomore standing.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

Previous experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook strongly preferred.

 

Wage:
Starting at $15/hr
