We are seeking an HR & Payroll professional who's excited to work hands on to bring positive change to our organization.  Our HRIS & Payroll Analyst will be a key leader to enhance our HRIS platform and improve our weekly payroll process.  Our journey to transform manual processes into 21st Century technology that support the aggressive vision of our growth-focused organization is underway and this role is responsible for providing technical and process leadership to the team.  The successful candidate brings experience in payroll administration and processing, strong problem solving skills and analytical ability.  Experience in time capture system implementation and administration is highly desired.  We have grown quickly and are just starting to leverage our HRIS and other integrated systems.  Join us to build our processes and tools for the future.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties listed below may vary in terms of importance and other duties may be added or eliminated as this position develops.

  • Understands current processes and recommends, develops and implements changes leading to greater efficiency and accuracy.  
  • Partners with internal team, third-party payroll processors, and unions to ensure complete pay information is properly recorded and accurately calculated for each payroll cycle including hours, rates, benefits, deductions and taxes.
  • Administers set up of employee data in our HRIS, time keeping, and payroll system to ensure accuracy.  Suggests and implements improvements in how data is tracked and coded within the system leading to better analytics regarding our team.
  • Serves as HRIS and Payroll reporting subject matter expert.  Prepares HRIS reports tracking key metrics of headcount, hours, etc.  Analyzes trends in labor costs and hours, and investigates outliers.
  • Understands multi-employer environment.  Becomes familiar with relevant contract details to ensure pay and benefits are in compliance.  Compiles monthly union reports and calculates payments.
  • Leads on-going continuous improvement efforts for HR and Payroll team.

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business-related discipline (Business, Accounting, Finance, HR)
  2. Minimum of 2 years’ hands on payroll and HR experience including experience crafting and using reports to understand payroll and HR data. Previous experience processing union payroll strongly preferred.
  3. Strong knowledge of payroll and HR policies, procedures, and regulations.
  4. Demonstrated analytical ability to conduct research, data analysis, and resolve complex problems.
  5. Above average understanding and ability to use MS Office.
  6. Customer-focused, self-driven, results-orientated individual with an emphasis on quality, detail, and accuracy.
