Nature of Work:

Cash Application and Payable Specialist is responsible for accounts receivable payment and collection activities while also assisting the accounts payable department. This individual is detail orientated with experience in AR/AP who will take ownership of these functions. The individual should have strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and be a strong communicator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process incoming customer payment and post daily deposits.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of all transactions processed.
  • Conduct account research and analysis to ensure accurate and current aging balances.
  • Strong customer service to communicate with clients to resolve issues and work with client and billing team members to resolve discrepancies.
  • Examine customer payment history, credit line, and coordinating contact with client A/P.
  • Verify, code, and send invoices for approval in AP imaging application.
  • Follow up on delayed approvals.
  • Ensure accurate invoice dates, vendors, and coding before releasing for payment.

  1. Minimum 3 years of accounts receivable, billing, bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience.
  2. Associates degree in accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred but not required.
  3. Possess good knowledge of accounts receivable and collections.
  4. Familiar with computer software related to accounts receivable.
  5. Must have advanced computer skills and intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel.
  6. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  8. Exceptional attention to detail, data accuracy, and ability to maintain accuracy and professionalism despite interruptions.
